The official Bonnaroo app is your one-stop-shop for all things Bonnaroo 2011. This totally revamped app brings a new meaning to user interaction with its many specialized features. The main screen adjusts from a “day-to-night” setting and is fully loaded with a countdown to Bonnaroo and the “Artist Spotlight.” Several new features have been added, which makes this app the only tool you’ll need while on the farm.
All Mobile Apps: Bonnaroo.mobi
Features include:
“Like” Feature: This NEW feature gives users the ability to “like” their favorite performers, see who other users have “liked”, and view the selections.
Artist Spotlight: Each week leading up to the event a different artist is featured on the main screen of the app. Users can “like” the artist, link to the artist’s iTunes page, or connect to social media accounts to share the featured artist with others.
Festival Map: The interactive map of the Bonnaroo site takes full advantage of all the capabilities of both the iPhone and Android. This feature is GPS connected so users can easily find their current location by the familiar “blue dot.” Attendees can search for locations or choose to use the distinctive drop pins, which link to different attractions. Users can create their own pins and select which pins to view– Venue Pins, Eat & Drink Pins, Retail Vendor Pins, The Essentials Pins, pins that they have previously “saved”, or all of the pins. The pin feature also allows for attendees to view who is currently playing on a specific stage and gives the option of connecting to either that stage’s full lineup, that artist’s page, or add the performance to their schedule.
Roadtrip: The interactive map is designed as a user-to-user suggestion tool. Users can create a location drop pin to aware others of a great stop on the road to Bonnaroo. Drops pins can be made for great restaurants, hotels, attractions, or any other little “gems” users would like to share with others. Grandma’s house doesn’t count… she wouldn’t enjoy all those visitors.
Lineup: View the complete Bonnaroo lineup, performer pages and information for each stage. In the artists pages users can see where and when an artist will be performing and have the option of adding that performance to their schedule. Browse through performers’ bios, pictures, videos, and websites. Users can also “share” an artist via social networking sites– all within the app.
My Schedule: This section takes into account the wants and needs of each individual person. In hopes of making the festival experience an organized and enjoyable one, this features gives users the ability to create and save their own schedule. It compiles a complete listing of events that the user wishes to attend and includes the day, time, and stage. If a user has already created a schedule online, they have the ability to sync that schedule with the app.
What’s Hot: Here users can view the Most Liked, My Likes, and Most Scheduled artists. Most Liked shows the artists who were “liked” the most by all Bonnaroo users. My Likes displays the artists that the users personally “liked.” Finally, Most Scheduled shows the artists who have been added to the most Bonnaroo users’ schedules.
Time: The Time page displays a complete time breakdown of performances for each day of the festival. Now Playing shows everyone who is performing at Bonnaroo during the current time slots and at which stage.
Stages: This feature organizes the performances happening at Bonnaroo by stage. The Stage Lineup shows every performance that will occur on each specific stage and at what time.
Eat & Drink: The list view displays all the vendors who are serving Bonnaroo this year. Users can easily sort through the list, by name or by food type. Details show menu items, location, and food ratings based on a 5-star scale. Users can rate their vendor experiences and write reviews.
Retail: Much like the Eat & Drink feature, users can view a list of all the retailers. Details show the retailer name, location, and types of products they sell.
News, Socialize, & Ask Gary: Offering an easy way for festi-goers to stay plugged in and up-to-date on the latest Bonnaroo info. This feature includes news updates, links to the official Bonnaroo Twitter and Facebook accounts, a portal to personal social media accounts, and Ask Gary. In the Ask Gary section users can post questions, respond to other’s questions, and see what Gary has to say.
GroupMe: Stay in touch with all of your friends while walking the grounds. Quickly and easily tell everyone where to meet and when.
Radio Bonnaroo: Get live streaming access to the festival’s Internet and mobile radio station. Radio Bonnaroo plays tracks from bands who have preformed in the past and will be preforming at the festival this year. Users can view the radio history and request songs to be played.
Roo Camera: Users can choose from 2 different custom Bonnaroo frames to add to any photo for a personal keepsake. Roo Frame – Capture, frame and share all of your memories for the 10th Anniversary festival. Roo Booth – Just like an old photo booth, grab a friend and create a Bonnaroo memory.
